In my project i fail to know which mechanism can i use to shutdown the distribution transformer of 11kv automatically once a fault has been detected.

How about an 11kV circuit breaker or switch fitted with a remote-trip option and connected in series with said transformer fault detecting mechanism.

More information can be found using an internet search.

That would be a case of the protection and switching system far exceeding the cost of the transformer. Typical pole top transformers are often marked CSP (Completely Self Protected), here's the specs on one brand. The other way it's done is with a loop recloser scheme, more expensive but more reliable, still uses the same CSP transformer, but controls the primary supply, it all depends how important the load is.

I very important to got a VCB to open the high voltage side and a MCCB to open de low voltage side, for protect your transformer you have to use the high pressure valve with contacts for trip and for alarm, also use a differential relay to sense any current dis balance and trip the VCB in the high voltage side and also the low voltage side.if you have buchholz relay use the contact trip to work with the low an high voltage breaker

Hope this can help us.

(I'm assuming you're a student or just curious.) As the other posters mentioned, it all depends on what you want to achieve and why. Criticality of the transformer or the supply will dictate. If you are referring to small pole-mounted distribution transformers, a good old drop-down fuse setup could be quite adequate.
