Obround Dished Head

can someone tell me how to calculate the thickness of a dished head of obround (non circular) top view ?

asme ug 34 is alright ?

Are you saying that the body of your vessel, that this head will be attached to, is not cylindrical but elliptical? If so, why?

If the cross-section is circular, you can pretend it is a cylindrical shell and calculate accordingly; the result will be conservative.

I Am sorry I have to be more clear.

I want to design a closure for a hairpin hear exchanger.

the rear closure for multi tube hairpin.

it has a elliptical shape, from the assembled side viwe.

That's an interesting design; how is it to be formed? Hydraulic mold?

The rather wide area of the elliptical tube sheet may also present concerns.

Is a forged short-radius U-bend (or two ells) out of the question?

it is a casting

in fact tubesheet comes in the other side of the shell

api 663 give more info. But not about thick calc.

I want to know is there a known method other than fea
