Hi,
this is something I recently experienced which may be of interest to others here.
I
have an I7 Intel Toshiba laptop with 4 cores which I bought second hand
last year with Win7. I used it till about 10 days ago, (except for a few
weeks at the beginning on Ubuntu 13.x) on Win7.
Win7 is a good OS.
A
week ago, because Windoze support ends, as I promised, I went back to the newest version of Ubuntu 14.1 desktop.
Everything worked fine, till I switched the Laptop off and on again, then the
WLAN was declared as being too far away to be usable. But my Lenovo tablet
worked fine from the same position on the same WLAN. Another laptop also
worked fine on the WLAN.
I tried the I7 laptop on an Ethernet,
but that simply was terribly unreliable, as good as useless, though the
same Ethernet connection worked fine on two other laptops!!! DUUHHHH!!!
A second install worked fine till I switched the laptop off and on again....(FACT!!)
I
found and fixed the problem, but the logic is questionable (to me at least), but the actions I made have fixed all the problems 100%!!!....
.ANYONE HERE HAVE AN
IDEA HOW I GOT THE I7 LAPTOP WORKING ON BOTH WLAN AND ETHERNET WITH NO MORE ERRORS?
No prizes and my decision is final on who "fixes" it first!!! He will get a GA from me.....
The answer might help others here.....
