Transformer abnormal humming sound

07/09/2007 4:23 AM

Dear sirs,

Earlier I posted a forum thread of Transformer abnormal humming sound

on 26.06.2007 . After a long term investigation We could able to find out a problem route cause for abnormal humming sound . The abnormal humming sound was mainly due to our state elctricity board power line 22 KV Jumper loose connection only. The jumper which was located about 1.5 Km Distance was totally changed by a new one . Then our transformer was charged . Now the transformer is absoulutely normal.

I Express my sincere Thanks to our forum and active members for replying my querry .

Regards

R.THIRUNAVUKKARASU.

Mr R.THIRUNAVUKKARASU, You did the right thing in giving a feed back after getting a solution . Most of the engineers post a query and forget about it, do not even bother to write a note of confirmation that they read the replies. The very purpose of this forum is defeated if feed backs are not given by the person posting the thread.

This fault you have noted is a common fault in overhead distribution systems and results in misguiding the engineers to locate the reason for such mischievous behaviour of electrical equipments.Thank you and best wishes.

At the risk of sounding boring... I would like to echo the above 2 replies.

Many thanks for the informative response.

John.
