Test Chambers for Waterproof Electric Motors

07/10/2007 3:37 AM

I would appreciate a lot if someone knew to provide me with some internet addresses of such manufacturers.

I am working on waterproofing electric motors and connectors and we would like to buy such a chamber in order to perform experiments.

Thank you in advance

Your question doesn't appear to be very clear...

Are you looking for a chamber to do leak testing of these motors and connectors?

Why use water for a leak test, air is far better...

But maybe I haven't understood your requirement?

We want to put an enclosure inside a test chamber filled with water and investigate whether there are problems with water coming into the enclosure at depths of 300 m (30 bar). That is because we want to test the waterproofness of an enclosure and various connectors.

Any ASME coded shop (of which we have dealt with several) should be equipped to hydrotest vessels that have undergone extensive repairs. They, too, would be capable of producing an appropriate chamber for your needs ... maybe even resurrecting one that had been removed from service somewhere. Are you manufacturing electric motors [or similar equip.] for use on "ROVs" (remotely operated vehicles) for subsea use? If not, and if you're only seeking to have a few "one-off" tests performed, how about contacting one of the existing manufacturers of these systems (there are several in the U.S., as well as overseas) and contract them to do your hydrotesting (they are already set up to do their own on a routine basis).

How large are the pieces that you are dealing with...?
