Elon is a Busy Guy

02/13/2015 7:48 PM

as if the guy didn't have enough on his plate, now he wants to crank out home battery storage to compete with Iron Nickel and flow batteries to store solar and wind energies. I guess that gigafactory wont just be making car batteries!http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-02-12/tesla-planning-battery-for-emerging-home-energy-storage-market

I admire his achievements, yes. in a month or so Tesla will announce a home use battery pack. I assume its for load shifting, you charge it up during off peak hours when your KWH rate is cheapest and then either charge your electric car or power your home at a discount to everyone around you who are paying premium rates from your power provider. I could be wrong

I guess if I had $8B+ I'd be pretty busy too...you just can't spend it fast enough!

It's not that Elon has too much money. People have money because they do things that make money. They take risks. They invest in themselves to learn everything they can. They have a vision for something greater than where they are at the moment.

Elon Musk is a visionary and will make great things happen that most people don't envision. He surrounds himself with great thinkers and technical people. Most people say, "that can't be done", "that will never work". Visionary people say, "let's figure out a way to make that happen." Henry Ford was that way with the assembly line, the 8 cyl. engine, etc. There are many others who did the same thing; Thomas Edison, Benjamin Franklin, Steve Jobs, etc.
