Level Transmitter

02/15/2015 3:40 PM

Hi,

What can be level transmitter - 1 and level transmitter - 2? What is the function? Can it be used to sense water level of a river? Maybe they are two (water) level transmitters placed at two different places like right bank and left bank.

Regards,

Usually level one transmitter is the one on the left. That is unless your facing backwards, then it will be on the right.

Sometimes a transmitter is used to identify when somebody completes a tough mudder level. It reduces the time it takes to find those that don't make it.

A level transmitter, by itself, is useless and unnecessary.

I'd think a blood hound would be in order for your application, and they have a built-in, short range audible transmitter.

is it necessary for the transmitter to be audible?

The most common application for dual continuous level sensors I'm aware of is for determining how clogged a water wastewater bar screen filter is. The upstream level will increase as the filter clogs, restricting flow through the screen. The differential between down stream and upstream levels is used for alarming and control of screen cleaning operations. The use of a continuous level sensor is frequently 'backed up' with a second point level sensor, hopefully of a different technology, for alarming/control on critical low or high levels.

Yes, ultrasonic non-contact level sensors are used for measuring water levels in natural open channels like streams or rivers, or in man-made open channels with flow measurement restrictions like a flume or a weir.

If the level transmitter is in a keg of beer, I get to do all the testing! Non vicious CR4 members are invited to submit resumes for the position of assistant testers. Rest rooms are provided as part of the testing cycle. No need to bring your own.

Good Luck, Old Salt
