Burner Floor Plater

02/26/2015 1:47 PM

Replacing a charged heater burners, the new burners are heavier than the old burners, trying to maintain the same flame profile the new burners maintain the same flame profile. My problem is how can I determine if the existing supports and floor plate can support these new burners.

What was the previous weight and new weight? Where are the burners mounted (building construction)? Ground floor, 2nd story, residential home, commercial kitchen, etc, etc?

Small weight variations should be fine but a large weight increase may require you to hire in a builder or structural engineer to assess the site.

Wouldn't this have been something to consider BEFORE ordering overweight replacement burners?

Asking an anonymous forum while providing NO usable details means that you are not qualified for the job.

Hire some competent help, or at least provide some intelligent comments.

There are 8 burner rings on the floor plate, the old burns are approximately 250 pounds and the new ones are approx. 525 pounds. The floor plate is supports are; bolted on a 2.5'' x 2.5'' x 0.25'' L-ring welded on the heaters shell and a BSC-104 C-channel supported in the middle running across the floor plate. The floor plate also includes stiffeners with supports each burner section on the floor plate.
