VersaMax Micro PULS Controller

02/28/2015 6:30 AM

Hi,

These days for automation microcontrollers have become very popular. I am concerned with one microcontroller called VersaMax Micro Controller called IC200UDR010.

It appears to be a 28 pin - 16 pin for VDC in; 11 pins for relay out; 1 pin for 24 VDC out.

It is said that this microcontroller is expandable upto 4 units.

What is this microcontroller typically used for?

Regards,

The UDR010 is a PLC with 16 inputs and 11 outputs.

It can drive a stepper driver chip with 2 of the outputs (step and direction)

Basic example : To skim a surface with a router you will need to connect limit switches on min and max X , Y and Z.

If you start left bottom you will start by pulsing the X in the + direction until the limit switch is triggered then you stop the pulses and pulse the Y stepper a few pulses positive. Then you pulse the X stepper in the negative direction until the limit is reached and etc etc,

I prefer a CPU as a CNC because a CPU can PLC but a PLC cannot CNC.
