A motor starter contactor fits the description, Murphy, as does a triac. The good old 2N3055 will do it if the base is biased correctly.

Yes there is, if you find it.

So are you going to say anything about the analogue amplifier you all have at all?

An internet search of "digital amplifier" produced over 6 million results.

Stop being lazy now and perform simple searches yourself FIRST.

The most common form is called a class D amplifier.

Would that make sense, i mean, practical? Perhaps yes. Radio frequencies could be amplified by an Op amp may be.

Operational amplifiers with very high gain bandwidth (GBW) numbers into the Gigahertz range are available. Many hobbyists get quickly frustrated trying to use these parts because circuit layout and unexpected transmission line effects can easily baffle the best electrical engineers new to working with RF.

No, you will also amplify the noise.

A digital repeater receives the "weak" (weak is the wrong word it's really a data stream whose BER is getting too close to the farged limit) on whatever transport media you have, decodes the data re-encodes and patches the data holes and sends it on it's way again like a new one.

Think early telegraph relay stations.....

Who is we? You might have one if you ask the "we".

To amplify a base 10 number by 10, you shift it left one digit.

Digital (signal/data) amplifiers are more commonly called repeaters.
