Slightly over a day after Saturn passed through its equinox, an orbiting companion was there to capture the view.
The Cassini-Huygens mission was launched in 1997 and it has since changed our view of the ringed planet and the Saturnian moons. On Aug. 12, 2009, the renamed Cassini Equinox mission did it again, snapping 75 images of the planet and its moons. The images were then stitched together to produce this incredibly detailed planetary mosaic.
