its hard to believe that the NSA has more resources than google, or better tech? must be just the difference in focus... but this can hardly be google's first intrusion.

I'm confused.

I agree. It seems a bit confusing. I would have guessed that the NSA would be recruiting from companies like Microsoft , IBM, and Google for years. Perhaps the recent Google squabbles with China coupled with US homeland security Issues has stepped up the security game. Shades of George Orwell, with big brother already watching over our shoulders through a backdoor in computer operating systems.
