If recently developed reversible adhesives were used to assemble products, recycling products like autos, buildings, computers, electronic devices, and more at the end of their useful lifetimes would become much easier. Dismantling products and possibly structures would allow the reuse of many materials or components. In turn, these materials and components could then become viable resources for the production of other products. Could reversible adhesives replace nuts and bolts, welding, and other joining methods in the future?
