The robot suicide ad aired by General Motors during the Super Bowl last week was criticized by many for sending "dangerous and insensitive messages," even though the depiction in the movie only turned out to be a robot fantasy.

Yes, I totally agree, it's a terribly insensitive add that sends completely the wrong message. It should have been the human programmer jumping of the bridge. If the blame has to be laid, lay it at the correct feet. Marvin wouldn't have jumped, he would have brought everyone else down so they jumped.
