Computer Chips Inspire New Water Purifier

Water may kill a computer chip, but a new water purifier inspired by computer chip technology could save millions of lives. Developed by scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the new water purifier uses magnetic fields to separate harmful contaminants and produce clean water. Scaled up and mass produced, the new technology could save millions of lives in developing countries by preventing the transmission of water-borne diseases.

Interesting. No replies? May lend some credulance to magnetic water purification devices, which have been poo-pooed by many. Someone should be able to take these ideas and apply them to testing magnetic water purifying devices to see it they do anything or not. But to dismiss them out of hand without trying to see if there is any truth to the concept is unscientific.
