Seeing Through Screens

Posted June 11, 2010 7:57 AM

We've seen demonstrations of clear laptop screens and now of a transparent large-screen TV. How long until someone builds glass doors that incorporate a screen with way-finding directions? Or sells video advertising on the windows of subways and busses? (And how long until someone hacks that system?) Or, alternatively, how long until a TV-maker puts 2D art behind a television screen, so that when the the TV is not in use, it acts as a frame for the art?

Don't know about the other aps, but glass door with wayfinding directions is not a great idea. People will be stopping to read it - in front of the door.

These technologies exist. The concept is to increase public awareness to further marketability of heads-up display.
