Are Pneumatic Systems too Complicated?

Posted June 28, 2010 7:32 AM

The continued integration of embedded electronics, fieldbus controls, and remote HMI are turning the simple pneumatic circuit into high-performing, energy-efficient systems with built-in command and control. What is the down side of this technology trend, if there is one?

pneumatic systems tend to not exert very much force compared to their hydraulic counterparts. They also tend to be 'spongy'.
