Does anybody remember when the first gigabyte hard drives first came out? I do. They cost about a grand a piece and everybody was asking what anyone would ever need an entire GIG of hard drive space for? That was something like 20 years ago. Now, terabyte hard drives are not terribly expensive. Go figure.

So, TDK has come out with a terabyte optical disc. Still, 16 layers? Oh well, if it works, who am I to say?

You youngsters, I was really pleased when I bought a 64k RAM pack for my ZX81...

We're not all youngsters here.

I once bought a 10MB hard drive for my Apple ][. US$1300

Still have the Apple but the hard drive bit the dust after about a year.

Oh yeah? Well I remember only having 2 5-1/4" floppies, and no hard drive!

See you and raise you one...

I still have the cassette recorder that I originally saved and restored my Apple ][ programs on (and TWO 5-1/4" floppies).

And I'll trump the lot of you! I started programming on a pair of HPs that ran on tape cassettes and had no monitors, but rather output to paper tape. Top that.

Does that beat a Flexwriter (teletype) that printed on thermal paper and simultaneously punched a paper tape? No storage and extremely primitive editing.

I used the above for NC programming (pre-CNC) in the '60's.
