I've always felt that car parts make the best gifts. And this is
true - mostly. But we also need tools, fluids, storage, lighting,
equipment, beer, and all the other things that make our automotive
hobby enjoyable. So what do you get the car fiends on your list, and
what do you yourself most want to find under the tree?
Forget the hokey
car-detailing kits and the redundant "Illustrated History of Automaker
X" coffee table books that we've all already scrounged out of the
Barnes & Noble bargain section. Car people need items they'll actually use and enjoy. So
what should we give (and get)? We canvassed friends and threw
together a quick list.

- Vintage dealership literature, relevant magazines, and original
shop manuals
- Race tickets
- Tools
- Gift certificates – for the junkyard
- Go the whole hog, and get them a car.
