Gas Drilling Technique Is Labeled Violation

Posted February 01, 2011 10:11 AM

From NYT > Science:

Oil and gas service companies injected tens of millions of gallons of diesel fuel into onshore wells in more than a dozen states from 2005 to 2009, Congressional investigators have charged. If the gas and oil in the zone where injected is not getting into the aquifers, how will the diesel miraculously migrate there? Does it have a sensor for fresh water installed and some drilling apperatus to allow it to go where oil and gas under thousands of pounds of pressure can not?

Perhaps we should just stop drilling for fear of what we search for might also get into the aquifers once discovered.

Why don't we just quit drilling for fresh water too? This has to introduce contaminants into the aquifers.
