Increasingly, computing is a mobile, not a desktop, function. Its standard interface has moved from the mouse and keyboard to the screen itself. Applications have blossomed from word processing and spread sheets to music, videos, location-specific services, and social networking. Software programs tailored for these new areas and the mobile venue are now primarily sold online. For years, Microsoft has been the undisputed leader in computing.
