Copper Wins Out in Live Battle Against MRSA

It's not often that we can celebrate a victory against superbugs. But in a live experiment conducted to mark World Health Day yesterday, an unlikely contender succeeded in wiping out a colony of MRSA within minutes: not a new antibiotic or cleaning agent, but a simple copper surface.

Problem is, it's a metal. While it is needed in human nutrition, I wouldn't make it my first line of defense. I'd try intravenous sodium ascorbate.
