I've never understood how some people feel entitled to simply take something that doesn't belong to them?

We're not talking about an extra straw or a few napkins to wipe the inside of the windshield at McD's either.

The entitlement disease seems to be a HUGE problem in our society today. It seems there is a never ending stream of news stories about seemingly decent people with no criminal background who embezzle, steal, and lie. They all boil down to rationalization by the criminal that somehow the person won't miss it and their "situation" somehow justifies the theft. I believe they somehow think that they are ENTITLED to it.

Of course, our own government has contributed greatly to this disease.

"Of course, our own government has contributed greatly to this disease."

Referring to entitlements or theft?

Both now that I think about it, but when I wrote it, I was thinking of the entitlement disease.
