Will There Ever Be An "Internet Erase Button"?

Posted April 27, 2011 8:24 AM

From Technology Review RSS Feeds:

At the end of the film The Social Network, Mark Zuckerberg approaches the ex-girlfriend whom, earlier in the film, he had dragged through the mud online. He wasn't getting her back, of course. As she put it: "The Internet isn't written in pencil, Mark. It's written in ink." But what if that could change?

I hope there is never "...An "Internet Erase Button". Anybody that can't keep their trap shut should get whatever they have coming to them. Especially Dave, that stinkin' lyin' no-good boozer that kicks his dogs and...

Boy, I sort of wish I hadn't said that... If only I could erase it.

Seriously, if there were an erase option, places like facebook would be very boring.

No. Post carefully. Even on CR4, someone can grab your post before you go back to edit it, and it's out of your control. Forever.
