Just Say No to Drugs

Yeah - to vibrators and drugs that make you go places that way you don't worry about your own fragile body.

A fair comparison of drugs regarding useful and non-useful effects is overdue.

But very likely drugs that are widely used - prescribed by doctors - would end up in a list where cocaine, morphine and heroine is found.

So a billion-$ industry tries with any existing means to combat this attempt.

With Big Pharma switching to outrageously priced medications for chronic conditions, how can they not be surprised that minimally invasive surgeries become the standard. Minimally invasive surgeries tend to reduce total cost on a patient's body and wallet. In contrast Big Pharma is heavily researching maintenance drugs instead of cures. A $5,000 surgery now becomes more cost effective than a daily medication that costs $20 a day. (Yes, I know that those can be considered low dollar number examples but the point and the math is the same.)

The heart is a pump, basically. As the article said, mechanical solutions work best for mechanical problems.

Surgery and devices have been tools of choice for cardiologists for a long time, and the minimally invasive advances in both categories are truly awesome in terms of sweetening the risk/benefit analysis. No drug can compete with that.
