How Safe is Your Job?

The latest Machine Design salary survey offers both good news and bad news. On the one hand, most of the engineers surveyed expect better economic conditions this year. On the other hand, a majority of respondents said they were unsure about their job security. But how about you? Are you feeling better or worse about your own job security today compared to this time last year? Please give the reasons for your answer.

Nowadays low quality MD's,with less skills, trying to manage companies because they have good connections like being the son of former MD or wealthy. They have inferiority complex and very nervous so they do not treat senior employees well thinking they are a nuisance to them and prefer low quality engineers. Experienced engineers keep on changing jobs as a result and companies face the consequences.

My job is very safe. A paper cut is probably the worst acute event that might happen. But I suppose more chronic injuries could arise such as carpal tunnel syndrome or even deep vein thrombosis from sitting too long without running to the water cooler or the printer.
