This may work in Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska, or several other western states, but as an Over-the-Road truck driver for 3 years after retiring from research at Texas A&M, I want to watch some idiot try to set one down on the LIE or I-95 anywhere between Richmond VA and Boston MA on a Friday afternoon between 4:30 and 6:00 PM. I-80/90 in the Chicago area same time would be fun also. Or I-70 around St. Louis or Indianapolis. And I hope he doesnt have power lines crossing the street in his neighborhood.

No, you are going to have to use existing airport runways to set down while the ATC is napping. Will they have radio contact with the control tower? Do we really want them playing "wingtip tag" with a 747?
