GPS versus Magic 8-ball

Posted April 16, 2007 5:20 PM

We made our start point in the midst of suburban streets near Tiburon, and tried each method to direct us back across the Golden Gate Bridge, into San Francisco. With the Magic 8-ball, we asked it at each intersection whether we should go right. Using the GPS navigation system, we merely input the address in San Francisco where we wanted to go. The results, as they say, will surprise you. Or maybe not so much.

I'm surprised they didn't get a billion USD of federal funding for the project.

I'm thinking about applying for a grant to study why, when I leave my putt short, it doen't go in??

Ironically, a voice operated GPS navigation system is a mystical device to anyone who doesn't understand how it works.
