Food Producers Learning to Become Processors

Makerere University's School of Food Technology, Nutrition and Bio-Engineering in Uganda, is rolling out finished food products like alcoholic beverages, wines, snack foods, canned beans, and others, signalling a shift from being just a source of exported raw produce to being a food producer. However, inadequate storage is still an issue which results in waste. How can industrialization and manufacturing technologies help emerging nations use their own resources to feed their citizens?
