Sounds like the makings of a great movie, robot soldier and his robot dog, only really big and knarly, sort of a Iron x-man transformer and his hunter killer superdog....DARPA, where scifi becomes scifact, hopefully won't ever change, just get bigger....

Transport vehicle?

Finally! This fiscal dog has consumed so much money it was ridiculous. As the Wired (at least this is better than Gizmodo) article points out in 2009 this was $4 billion over budget. Averaging this over sixteen years that's $250,000,000 per year that it was over budget. Any guess how much was the budget over sixteen years?

According to Wiki, the project was a total expense of over $5 billion USD. There are probably more accurate sources, but Wiki is usually accurate enough.

So, $4 billion overrun on a ± $1 billion project that ended in the dustbin... yeah, that sounds about right.
