New Insight Into the Mechanism of Photosynthesis

Posted May 07, 2007 9:37 AM

From What's Next In Science & Technology:

During the remarkable cascade of events of photosynthesis, plants approach the pinnacle of stinginess by scavenging nearly every photon of available light energy to produce food. Yet after many years of careful research into its exact mechanisms, some key questions remain about this fundamental biological process that supports all life on earth.

HI nighthawk !

CAN I HOOK UP A WIRE TO A TREE AND GET POWER ? has anyone tested the trees for power production ? can we string multi trees together and get a decent charge ?

or dose science half to develop a new tree genetically changed to put out the power we need for 100 years or so ? the average life of a tree.

Electricity would probably be the ultimate goal, but oxygen perhaps be the first step in helping to filter out the CO2 from the atmosphere. Decoding photosynthesis and adapting it to the industrial use or producing oxygen on other planets such as Mars, would probably be the best thing ever happened to our civilization. Dreaming is believing, and believing is another step closer to resolving issues that we have created, so best of luck to whoever solves the mechanism behind photosynthesis, because if it happens I will be d….!!!

HI mktim69 !

the new fructose biogas process has been completed. this would allow a tree to be hooked up at one end and the sap sent into the process and biogas comes out this sounds great to me. the oil producers will be hard pressed to find a way to eat all that oil.

THANKS
