The United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted well over 8 million patents, so it would stand to reason that at least of few of them were authored by people with a certain degree of fame. Like Lawrence Welk, for instance. Yes, the '70s-era polka king was somewhat of a tinkerer. So was Kurt Vonnegut. And Harry Houdini.

Just a comment on the title. It ought to be '19 Inventions Patented by Ingenious Celebrities'. You don't invent a patent; you get a patent awarded for an invention.

How do people get those writing jobs?

Painfully slow website. I gave up at number 8.

If you click on the barely visible 'show all' link at the bottom right of the 1st screen you can scroll through the lot quickly.
