Shoot, I was half done cracking the code myself. :/

Here what I got so far:

hand toss, meat lovers, extra cheese, extra sausage, mushrooms, onions and green pepp....

Another BBC news article titled "Has World War II carrier pigeon message been cracked?" where the answer is simply "no".

It seems that, unlike complex Engineering questions, media questions can be answered with a simple "yes" or "no".

German code books were captured during WWII. If he had the right one, it would be easy. What experts are they talking about?
