A creative and ingenious method to create a short circuit.

Would it work more than once twice?

Have the funds become depleted to the extent this is necessary? This seems an ineffective cost saving measure. You spent the money for a nice camera and other goodies, why not purchase a remote release?

they used to be called trip wires, and for other purposes that did not require resetting because it was a one shot process.

I just went to the fridge and checked. The "soda can tab" on all the cans in there bears no resemblance to whatever that thing is in the picture.

But, the article wasn't written for the likes of us, so, I'll let it slide.

Is that really a soda can tab?

Maybe LynDoor™Industries should market a plug/switch that takes the place of the soda can tab.

A female plug with a momentary switch molded into a nifty package.

We'll have to work on that.

We'll need to come up with a well known name that rhymes with switch, but doesn't over look the female connector aspect.

Let's see................Rhymes with switch...........female........................Nothing's grabbing me..........Any thoughts?

And yet people are willing to spend huge money amassing a collection of different lenses.

Jack - My friends have DSLRs and more lenses than I have electronic device chargers

I agree entirely.

I used to be a shutterbug, Olympus OM2 was my premium camera. Lenses, filters, multipliers, remote release, tripods, neck straps, flashes (masters and slaves), lens hoods, handles, motor drive and the varied goodies for it...

It seems I seldom passed a chance to add stuff to the camera bag.
