Re: Generation Gap In Your Office Infographic

When I managed an engineering department back in the 90's, this very topic came up.

All my designers/ engineers we from the Gen 'X'. and some of these were,...l how should I say it, ..........thought very highly of themselves.

Well they were talking about this as though it was a club. That everyone in engineering was a Gen 'X'........... except me and pointed it out.

They were very confused when I thanked them. And only later understood what I meant and how foolished they talked........... actually it had to be explianed to them by the more down to earth Gen 'X'. The ones that thought the types of people Gen 'X' represented was embarressing.

But yes, you have to understand that there is a generation difference, each with different ideas. Some fresh, some foolish, some old fashioned. Go with an open mind and fairness. It should not be a problem.

It is a refreshing no matter what generation, when one goes out on a limb, fails and is caught is a very good feeling no matter what generation.
