How a Rooster Knows to Crow at Dawn

Posted March 21, 2013 2:21 PM

From National Geographic:

Back before alarm clocks jolted us awake to greet the morning with bleary-eyed confusion, roosters performed that daily duty. Now, a new study shows that roosters don't need the light of a new day to know when it's dawn-rather, their internal clocks alert them to the time.

What a bunch of chicken manure. Every rooster we've ever had will crow at all times of day and night. Anytime they feel the urge, they just let it rip. We probably just notice it more in the morning because that's when WE wake up.

"I think many times we don't think to study what appears right in front of us," (said) Navara, who wasn't involved in the research...."I think this is a very interesting study and something that should have been done a long time ago."

Yeah ...

And we should have a study done as to why grass doesn't grow on the flats in Death Valley...
WHY Is THAT???

And somebody should study WHY people don't care to eat their own feces...(let alone somebody else's)...
WHY Is THAT???

Au contraire to the above, WHY do cats lick their paws after they exit their litter-box...?
WHY ?!?!?

And WHERE on earth DOES the wind all blow-to, anyway...? much, Much, MUCH balloon-study is just CRYING to be performed, ladies and gentlemen!!

Lets get these studies GOING! They should have been DONE BY NOW
