Alien Life Unlikely Around White and Brown Dwarfs, Study Finds

The dead and failed stars known as white dwarfs and brown dwarfs can give off heat that can warm up worlds, but their cooling natures and harsh light make them unlikely to host life, researchers say.

Not so long ago, the same thing was thought about life around deep sea hydrothermal vent.....until they actually got a closer look at the black smokers and saw that they were teaming with life.

.

I find studies that proclaim great improbability to be less interesting and less believable than those that suggest routes of possibility. I can see this bias in myself, and even if it doesn't help me avoid erroneous conclusions, I prefer being biased in this way.
