You Take Risks Because You Can't Stop Yourself

A new paper correlates brain activity with how people make decisions. Based on these images, the authors suggest that when individuals engage in risky behavior, such as drunk driving or unsafe sex, it's not because their brains' desire systems are too active, but because their self-control systems are not active enough.

There is so much wrong with this article and the conclusions it draws, it's not worth the time to explore them all.

Sadly, hundreds of know-nothing bloggers and reporters will read the headline then carry the story and comment on it as if this were really true.

I can see this having wide spread use by bankers, insurance companies, potential employers and dating services.

Oh, and parents before junior gets his own set of keys.
