Would a 20% increase in low-wind performance improve your bottom line? Two Rutgers researchers have developed a blade deflector that takes advantage of tangential forces wasted by typical blades. Laboratory-scale models confirm computer simulations, and the technology was recently licensed to a commercial technology vendor.
