Space Scientist Colin Pillinger Dies

British planetary scientist Colin Pillinger, best known for his 2003 attempt to land a spacecraft on Mars, has died aged 70, his family have said.

A sad loss. It is so rare to find someone with such a profound sense of technical ambition and a desire to achieve the seemingly impossible embodied within such a outwardly-charming personality.
