Isolated parts of southern Utah have also been used to simulate Mars. Hawaii's too humid, though it dries out at altitude. I think the best Earth-Mars analogue might be Chile's Atacama Desert.

Too expensive when you consider that UH Manoa can just drive down the road to Mars.
