Google Builds Cable Under Pacific

Google and five other large companies team up to build a cable under the Pacific Ocean that will deliver incredibly fast internet speeds.

Google is working with a host of Asian telecoms giants - China Mobile, China Telecom, Global Transit, KDDI, and SingTel.

I guess China isn't getting secrets fast enough from the US.

Really? They're going to build a cable under the Pacific? Wouldn't it be easier to build it on land and then lower it down to the ocean floor?

Man, unless they're using robots the costs have to be enormous - you know, sending all those workers down there...

I was thinking the same! Even then it is hard enough to get it to the bottom, getting it underground would be even more a challange.

Why dont they build a tunnel? The side walls can be plastered with cables!

Could they put a 60Hz cable right next to the 100 Mhz cable???

500 million workers here, 500 million workers there, pretty soon you're talkin' 'bout real numbers. In China, if you don't have enough workers, wait five minutes.
