AmeriChip has received a Ford Motor Company contract for application of the Company's Laser Assisted Chip Control (LACC) technology. Developed to better manage and control the long metal chips normally generated during a turning process, LACC technology uses a laser to scribe the part being cut. The shallow scribe interrupts the chip generating process without interfering with the actual cut, as described in this report from Laser Applications International. Announcement of the Ford contract gives further recognition to the patented chip control technology.
