Squashable Robot

CRAM (compressible robot with articulated mechanisms) can squeeze through tiny cracks by squishing itself to 20% of its normal 1 cm height. Modeled after one of the most successful animals on earth - the cockroach - this little robot re-orients its legs to dash through crevices smaller than it is, a useful feature for search and rescue teams operating in rubble and debris. If they could add something like high strength air bags so it could lift or stabilize rubble in the aftermath of natural or other disasters. This little thing could be a huge deal in the search and rescue field.
