"To ring bell, connect wires"

...then (if you can) let go of the wires!

Taking away all that juvenile fun for juveniles.

The real problem isn't the hijinks of youngsters, it's those flipping spam calls from 'David' in some call center in a far off country on the other side of the world.

Everything was normal for Belle. Cute as a button and lit up the night... but now a couple of screws are loose and she's feeling lost. wires are often crossed but you don't know if makes a connection? it's hard to tell if someone's home at times.

It's very good for getting rid of those pesky door-to-door salesmen and the religious nuts who always time their visit to just when you are sitting down to a hot dinner. But my yard is running out of space to bury the bodies so can anyone of the CR4 community give me plans or advice on how to build a small scale crematorium incinerator. Preferably with energy harvesting features.

Here in Houston we use a BBQ pit and 100#s of charcoal. (Seriously Google it.)

Sorry to be a party pooper. Probably everyone here knows that a doorbell is fed from a low voltage, Class 2, intrinsically safe transformer. The jokes about electrocution require too much suspension of disbelief.

I would be so tempted to splice the wires together and then poke the wires into the hole. I wonder how long a ringer will last?

If it's a musical doorbell, it will likely only play once...

...and then again every time the wires shift, breaking and re-making the connection.

I'f it's a classic electromechanical "DIng-Dong" doorbell, they'll get a "Ding" but no "Dong" until the wires come loose again...or until the transformer or solenoid burn out from the constant load.

In either case, They're likely to find a surprise in their electric bill if that prank isn't noticed for a few months.
