It must be winter or dead heat of summer where you are. You have oh so much time on your hands to ponder so many of these so quickly.

Too hot to do anything outside here lately. 42 Deg C at sunset, over 30 Deg C at sunrise with 45 predicted for tomorrow. Multiple bushfires to the East of here have each burnt out areas larger than some countries, they are reporting them in multiples of 100,000Ha (That's around 250,000 acres) each.

Seriously thinking of making a basement level underground, but at 10m or so.

It's at the beginning of winter here, such as it is, but I sympathize with you in the heat....Some people head for the mountains to cool off, some head for the beach, some just stay indoors in the air conditioned luxury of their domicile...Now when you start throwing fires into the mix, well, I just stick close to the beach.....

Been on hols for a fortnight. Our "holiday" house was closer than 500m to one of the fires but we were safer not being nearby. That fire is now out, but some of the fires are covering more area than some modest countries.

Got home tonight to find 42 deg C outside and 39 deg inside at 8pm. Swampy A/C is working overtime.
