Agreed! But I'm at a loss to see the connection between that building and a Klein bottle. As an extra-credit work, I once made a Klein bottle in glass-blowing, nearly 60 years ago!

Klein bottles are normally "found" in topology: a subject which studies objects which exhibit fixed attributes under deformation. Thus, the statement that a topologist cannot tell the difference between a doughnut and a coffee mug; a sphere and a cube are also the same as each other topologically.

For a house to be a klein bottle it only needs to pass the criterion that the entrance passage way passes through another wall.

The main distinguishing feature is that the internal and external surfaces are continuous (with each other); it's a bit like a closed Möbius band.

Thanks! Your illustrations definitely help. The one I made of glass over half a century ago was essentially the same as your leftmost illustration. I had difficulty relating that everywhere smooth surface to a house.

Reminds me of the Heinlein story "And He Built a Crooked House" (a tesseract in that case).

The only problem I see with that is you never know whether you are going or coming.
