Doing Square Roots in Your Head?

Posted October 04, 2007 8:24 AM by Sharkles

Believe it or not, engineers have a sense of humor, albeit different. This Web site presents a multitude of engineering jokes. It also says that you might be an engineer if you can prove you have no life mathematically, you know vector calculus but can't remember how to do long division, and if you've used every single function on your scientific calculator.

The preceding article is a "sneak peek" from Power Generation, a newsletter from GlobalSpec. To stay up-to-date and informed on industry trends, products, and technologies, subscribe to Power Generation today.

Yes I do ...

Shame the writer of the article doesn't!

Humor? I've got more in my left eye.... (Ooooh look a science joke)

Del, we define an engineer as someone, who receives 5 lots of material, 4 of which have a viscosity of 200.0 (S63, 60 rpm, 22 C) and the 5th batch has a viscosity of 200.1 cps, and he/she rejects the last batch as being out of spec.

The best humor displays wit.

The worst humor displays stupidity and ignorance.

This is a good example of the worst.

See, it is an Engineer thing. Just where is your humor?

Engineers should not lead people that is an analog function.

Or disconnect your rational mode when listening to others.

When another Engineer is speaking the babel will sort itself out into distinct thought patterns. Just try it
