Posted November 01, 2007 2:32 PM

From Crave: The gadget blog:

Ah, computers. They make our lives so easy ... but we should fear them, for they may yet turn on us. We've collected 10 of the most ee-vil computers not only to achieve sentience, but also decide that those pesky, squishy hu-mans just have to go.

Same could be said for Jeffery Dahmer, but I still think he was evil. I guess the question becomes one of if there is intelligence involved. If Hal was not intelligent, then it was just a misused tool.

I agree, Hal's the IT! I have to go for Proteus IV for it's creepiness, and I'm surprised anyone voted for Skynet, who wants a fictional enemy that wins on that scale?

The last computer I bought from Dell sure was evil. Possessed by Satan. Had to do an exorcism on the whole hard drive to get it to work. Dealing with it took weeks. I'm still not sure Satan is gone.

It wasn't only your computer. I think it was Dell itself. My son bought one and turned out the power supply, motherboard and cpu fans all crapped out 3 days after warranty. DELL did NOTHING.

Dont know that I would call it EVIL, but I am borrowing my daughters laptop Dell Presario with Vista installed. I have owned/used alot of computers since I started (1963), but this one ranks right up there as a piece of C**P.

I think HAL should have been in here too. Of course he is a generation or two older than those who put together the list.

OPEN THE POD BAY DOORS HAL!!!
