Miniaturization Mentality Needs Dose of Ergonomics

I totally agree, and feel as the tech savvy population ages, we'll see more pressure on manufacturers to provide larger buttons, displays. etc.

The first thing I look for when purchasing a cellphone is the size of the display and the ease of use of the keypad.

miniaturisation may give us more functionality with reduced power requirements (which in itself is an ideal to aquire), but that in itself may leave the people who have a greater dependancy on the technology being inadvertantly discriminated against. I refer to the less abled people who may have co-ordination problems or be visually impaired (young and old alike). The ability to see and easily utilise functions must be the main priority after the initial package specifications. Not to consider this factor risks discarding a significant portion of society as less than equal, and also ignore the potential income from that market sector.
